About Me

I have always been interested in seeing the world around me. Often it's the subtle details in an image that excite me: one individual in a group, the interaction of sunlight and shadows in a landscape, the lines and angles of a structure, or a flower in the corner of a garden.

I use digital cameras to capture the images I see and a computer to develop the image using software versions of the same techniques that are used in a film darkroom. I do not over-manipulate the image as I prefer to let the initial scene speak for itself. Finally, I print the image on an archival ink wide format printer.

I find satisfaction in the craft, in the making of a photograph from initial capture to the final print. My goal is to arrive at a final print that captures the scene as I saw it both with my eyes and my imagination.

Sharing my images with people is the other reward for practicing my craft. The feeling of accomplishment I have when someone responds to one of my photographs is immeasurable.
